There are countless benefits to having plants around the home. This bright and cheerful original painting shows brown hands fluffing a monstera plant. The healthy plant puffs verdantly from a unique vase and 'pops' against a warm, saturated yellow background.
The playful composition has so much personality and a perspective that puts the viewer - you, us - in the place of the plant's caregiver. Their sleeve is just visible on the panel and has a textural pattern not unlike some details on the vase.
To pick a favorite element, we might name the use of negative and positive space. They are balanced in such a beautiful way blurring the lines between plant and person.
The wood panel has been painted on all four sides and can be displayed without a frame. The artist's signature in fun block letters adorns the bottom of the painting.

Kate Martens is an artist based in Pownal, Maine. Although she originally focused her creative energy on sculpture, Kate has since reoriented herself as a creator of small objects: endearing ceramic gnomes, playful botanical drawings and paintings, and intricate greeting cards.
After studying in Boston for school, she lived in Seoul and Singapore where she was a teacher. Later she returned to the New England area where she continues to create art. We love showcasing her skills as a designer and illustrator.
