Meg Reilly is the gal behind the knots. She was raised on Mount Desert Island in the coastal town of Bar Harbor, which most folks will recognize as the home of Acadia National Park. 

She learned to tie her first knots sailing with her family along the beautiful rocky shore. For years she's worked in the Midcoast region making traditional knot work into Bristol-fashion nautical decor, accessories, and pet toys. 

In 2010, Meg won a Martha Stewart award for her knot work, and in 2015, she opened The Sail Locker in downtown Belfast, which features artisans with a similar nautical aesthetic. Her storefront is an homage to cottages, warm days on the foredeck, beachcombing, and the call of the sea.
