End of Season 2018
Pemaquid Store Celebrates End of Season October 6 & 7
Pemaquid, ME (September 27, 2018) – The Good Supply in Pemaquid will celebrate its last open weekend of the 2018 Summer Season with a weekend-long celebration and special pumpkin art to extend the fun of the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest to Pemaquid. On October 6 and 7, from 10:00am to 6:00pm, the locally-made home goods and gift store will serve cider and treats while showing off a puppy-themed pumpkin titled “G the Pup-kin” to honor the store’s canine mascot. The event is a closing party to thank the store’s loyal patrons and to encourage newcomers to visit the shop before the unique selection of original Midcoast Maine art is deinstalled for the season.
“We celebrated our 6th Anniversary this year,” says The Good Supply proprietor Catherine McLetchie, “so this event feels like the party for that occasion. Our shop wouldn’t be possible without the local support of artists, patrons, and the press - and nothing says ‘thank you’ like arts mixed with baked goods and local cider!”
Located half way between Damariscotta and the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, The Good Supply is attaching it’s end-of-season party to Pumpkinfest in an effort to extend the fun of such an exciting community event. The shop’s mascot “G the Pup” is a 4-year old, mixed-breed dog who was rescued by Beau Buddy Rescue in Bath. “G” was raised in the shop from the age of 2-months, and her official title is Store Greeter. She is so well-known and loved that she has become a minor virtual celebrity, garnering a fanbase over social media. This year’s pumpkin, the fifth in a series commissioned annually by the shop, will portray her likeness in pup-kin form.
The Good Supply opened its doors in 2012 with the mission to cultivate creativity and community while supporting those who make by hand. Deeply rooted in the nature, people, history, and culture of Maine, The Good Supply is inspired by its location providing a meeting place for local artists, travelers, chefs, farmers, and business people to come together.
The barn storefront is located at 2106 Bristol Road in Pemaquid and open for the season on Wednesdays through Sundays, from 10am to 6pm, through October 7th. The ‘End of Season’ Celebration will take place Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 from 10am to 6pm. The weekend-long event is open and free for the public. “G the Pup” will be in attendance. The Good Supply is always open at thegoodsupply.org.

For the last two years, she has hosted Art Camp for children and participated in the Annual Art Fair. Typically, her media of choice is mosaic glass and fiber art; however, she is more than willing to experiment.
“We are all about local art,” says Martone who joined The Good Supply as a co-curator in 2017, “The work we sell in our shop is meant to last for generations so there’s something really light-hearted and fun about creating art on a surface that will not last for more than a couple of months.” Liz painted The Good Supply’s pumpkin last season and has done so again this year.
