*SOLD OUT* Please email social@thegoodsupply.org with 'Tim Christensen' in the subject line if you would like to know when our next Full Moon Sgraffito will take place. Thank you for your interest and support!

Our host is award-winning Maine ceramic artist Tim Christensen, an avid educator and environmentalist who focuses on Sgraffito in porcelain. Of the art form, which is accomplished by decoratively scoring through a layer of slip to reveal the clay below, Tim advises, "Draw around something to depict it." Imagery of Maine nature awaits your interpretation...

In this unique plein air class, participants will learn to pack and carry everything needed to make gorgeous sgraffito etchings on porcelain by moonlight in one of Maine's many beautiful locations.

The session will be held in the evening nearing the full Strawberry Moon on Saturday, June 3 from 6pm-10pm. Let there be light and a lot of lines!

Bring your own raw porcelain pieces to work with, or purchase a form by Tim by selecting an option above. Additional listed bisqueware will be available on site along with some one-of-a-kind shapes.

We will cover the forms with slip and learn to depict the many textures and values we see in Maine in Summer. Working in black and white to allow for focus on value scales and quality drafting.

Texture, depth of design, negative space, ceramic and sgraffito history, and studio mobility/resilience will be among the covered topics.

Participants should dress for the weather as the class will be held outside. This educational event will be an experience through which art and adventure meet!

Join us in The Good Supply's dooryard at 6pm on June 3, and we will venture into the great coastal woods of Maine together. No experience is necessary, and participants age 16 and above are welcome.

The Good Supply will serve as the central meeting place for the workshop and after party as well as the pick-up location for pieces fired by Tim. (Tim will fire all forms made by him.) Shipping can be arranged if pick-up is not desired. Participants who bring their own forms should plan on firing them.

Please contact Catherine at c.walton@thegoodsupply.org with questions. The Good Supply's address is 2106 Bristol Rd. Pemaquid, ME.
