Gestural swaths of stormy grey dappled with lichen yellow, dollops of blue and deep green. An artist’s palette for a landscape perhaps? The colors of nature and the coast are all too present, making ‘Painterly’ an apt name for this bowl.

Alexsondra Tomasulo creates functional pottery which is equally elegant and playful. The broad strokes of color are layered and applied in a way that is both highly organic and meticulous. Each piece is hand thrown and painted being a truly unique part of a whole.

Ceramic pieces that are meant for everyday use and daily appreciation. Her clay body is porcelain. Pieces are dipped in a white glaze before brushing and dabbing on the colorful underglazes. They're fired in the kiln at her studio in Walpole, ME where the colors fuse, change, and come alive.
