Faceted glamour can be achieved in any room or nook by adding an original glass mosaic piece of art. Each unique "Mini Gem" muses on a favorite mineral and will never fade from sun exposure. A precious bit of sparkle can go a long way when it comes to this low maintenance art. It's perfect for those seeking edgy design that harkens to something deep and of the earth.

Rose Quartz - We love love! It spreads compassionate vibes, loving energy and opens the heart chakra. Opalescent and mirrored mauve glass may appear dark in this image, but it glows lighter in person. Pieced together to create a "love stone" like no other, this would make for a cherished gift of sparkly self love.

Demantoid Garnet - One of the rarest of all gemstones, it ranges in color from lush grass green to juniper. As an amulet in human history, garnet was favored by travelers. For it was said to protect and preserve health and honor, cure the wearer of all diseases, and guard against all the perils of a journey.

Golden Beryl - Bright and deep shades of yellow glass are cut in dozens of facets making this mini Beryl sparkle like a star. A cousin of emerald and Ruby, Golden Beryl is known as the Hope Stone and brings vitality and buoyant energy. Bring a bit of sunshine and bling to any room in your home.

Sapphire - The stone of wisdom, faithfulness, and good fortune, this glass mosaic rendering has facets of indigo and cobalt with shimmering powder blue highlights giving it the sparkle of a 1000 carats. Show your wall how much it means to you and put a ring on it!

The artist calls this mosaic craft pursuit “illustrating with glass” because she allows the initial line drawing to dictate the shapes and cuts that eventually come together again with bold grout lines and reflective colors.

The creation process is slow, purposeful, and meticulous. Each piece of glass is cut with no limit to the challenging curved cuts, and as the pieces are brought together like a puzzle, tape holds them in place until the entire work is ready to be set on its base with grout.

- Measures approximately 7” across
- Can be vertically or horizontally oriented for wall display
- Stained glass mosaic on rigid foam core panel
- Gently polish each facet with dry cloth if needed

Artist Liz Martone founded EFM Studio in Brooklyn, New York before relocating in 2016 to a home base in Round Pond, Maine.

Unafraid to mix urban edge with rural sensibilities, Martone has a love for all things handmade. This explains her diverse exploration of mediums, which ranges from glass to wood to fiber.

A BFA in Illustration formalized Liz's passion for the arts and continues to inform her work. She creates unique designs, focusing on lines and the spaces between. She translates her drawings to stained glass portraits and showcases a love for color and patterns in her mosaics and weavings.

Coastal Maine inspires the artistic core of Liz’s current work. From the endlessly fascinating shapes of forest mycelia to the shifting shades of the Muscongus bay, forms of nature are observed, honored, and reimagined in the diverse collection of art created at EFM Studio.

Liz’s work is exhibited in galleries in New York and Midcoast Maine, and much of her time is spent creating custom architectural installations for private and commercial clients.

From the artist: “I have always been drawn to the simplicity of lines and linear movement.  With a foundation in 2D mediums, I love taking the idea of a line and pushing what that concept is to the viewer in 3D works - to take a drawing and elevate it to a tactile level.
