Aidan of Luster Hustler has a way of combining ceramic form and human bodies (or parts of) that tells a unique story of the artist, perception and ourselves. Did Ms Mantis get a little confused and bite off the wrong head? You’ll have to come to your own conclusions as to what transpired in this curious scene.

The vase features the classic combination of soft pink and celadon green. Adorned with black hand-drawn decals that are thought provoking and playful on the elegant form.

- Measures 5.75" x 2.75"
- Altered stoneware with gold luster
Wash by hand is preferred

Aidan Fraser was born and raised in the Midcoast and currently working out of Portland, ME. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Maine in Liberal Art Studies. Her versatile degree allowed her to create a program in which equally explored art, women and gender studies, and race and ethnic studies. A strong focus on feminism greatly influences her work.

From the Artist:

A frustration with low self-esteem born of restrictions and regulations put upon women and our bodies led me to my work. My pieces commemorate and appreciate bodies as they are - soft, asymmetrical, and imperfect. I hope for my wares to be a visual reminder that we can look, unashamedly, at the relaxed human form. I want my work to remind us that It is not only okay to be soft and raw, but that it can be cherished, too. I want my work to be a beautiful, gold-gilded, tattooed symbol of our most real selves.
