This sculpture vase represents the finest of Maine pottery, an artistic form that this northern state has been celebrating and redefining for generations.

Handmade by Alexsondra Tomasulo on the Bristol peninsula, this vase is earthy yet modern. The blend of natural glaze colors sweep over the hand-shaped forms and ridges, making every piece unique.

The clever sculptured shapes atop the vase not only serve to assist in the arranging of fresh flowers, but also allow the piece to stand alone as a work of art when flowers are not available.

Alexsondra Tomasulo is an accomplished Maine potter who lives down the road from us in Walpole, Maine. Her studio was called Mud of the Ages in 2012 and has since changed to Pottery by Alexsondra.

With over forty years of experience as a potter, Alexsondra is truly a master of the craft. She has taught in schools and in her own private studio as well.

She loves teaching and believes in the inherent healing qualities of clay and its ability to bring about a deeper understanding of self discovery.  If you find yourself in want of learning, Alexsondra offers ceramic classes for individuals and small groups at her home studio, The Artist’s Haven.

Alexsondra Tomasulo’s work has been shown in galleries in Maine, New York, New Jersey, and Michigan.

In addition to her artistic talents in ceramic art, Alexsondra is a gifted poet. We are excited to share an excerpt of her poetry below - an exhortation that we at The Good Supply hope to embody and reflect.

From the artist:

“Give praise to the professions
so humble, yet noble.
Sing in thanksgiving
to the poets and potters
music makers and caretakers of this grand earth.
Delight in the simple beauty
that feeds the soul.
Rejoice in all that challenges you,
heals you, and raises you above all else
to your full and holy potential!”
